Tea Recommendation for the Easter Holiday

Spring is coming and Easter is just around the corner…. So, it’s time to start thinking about tea for Easter Holiday that can reinforce your happiness and your overall health – winter isn’t the only time you need to boost your system!

One easy way to boost your overall health is to add in more hydration, drinking tea is a great way to do this and far better than sugar loaded fruit juice or heavy caffeine coffee. Adding different types of tea at more regular intervals in your day is also going to put you on a better path to increasing your overall fluid intake and therefore boosting your hydration levels. Almost as hydrating as water, tea is a fantastic way to daily flush through your body and system, thus supporting bladder health, as well as helping your skin to be more radiant.

We would love to recommend you some tea for Easter Holiday

Sencha Tea

Springtime starts in Japan late March to Early April and this is the time that the new Sencha season begins. Sencha, which means ‘infused tea’, is the most popular Japanese green tea, accounting for roughly 80% of Japan’s tea production. It has thin straight needle like tea leaves, which are steamed, rolled and dried. Sencha is always a blended tea, carefully chosen by an expert tea blender, this is a highly skilled art form, often compared to a perfumerie – part natural ability and part learned skill.

Sencha must be steeped carefully in 70 ℃ and infused for no more than 2 minutes to develop a robust and vegetal “green” flavour and a vibrant grassy, bright aroma. It is traditionally prepared using the Senchado brewing method and often sipped from small cups or bowls. It is a fantastic accompaniment to savoury snacks. In fact, tasting something savoury before drinking Sencha helps to emphasise the natural sweetness of the tea.

The health benefits of Sencha have become well known in the last 10 years. This Japanese green tea is low in theine but incredibly rich in Vitamin C, and it is an excellent choice both during and after meals, as it is believed to aid digestion. The world of Japanese green teas is a complex and rich one, full of many different grades, traditions, rich culture and intricate ceremonies. A good quality Sencha tea offers an enticing glimpse into this world with its fresh and vibrant flavour. Brewed correctly and eaten with the right foods, it can provide a fabulous culinary experience or it can be a simple moment of revival and focus, with the purest of taste.

We have many Sencha based teas but our favourite at this time of year is Green Lemon – This is a great Spring tea with a kick! Japanese Sencha green tea is combined with lemon peel and lemongrass to produce a wonderfully zesty green tea which is a great choice of tea if you are feeling run down or are fighting off a cold.

Sencha is packed with anti-oxidants and the related health benefits include its ability to fight chronic diseases, aid in weight loss, protect the immune system, increase energy, and stimulate cognitive activity. Lemon peel is a great source of vitamin C which can help boost your immune system, it also has antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Additionally, lemon peel is a great cleanser and is good for your overall skin health. Lemongrass is believed to prevent the growth of some bacteria and yeast – it also contains substances that are thought to relieve pain and swelling, reduce fever, improve healthier levels of sugar and cholesterol in the blood, plus it has its own antioxidant properties.

Happiness Tea

The name of this tea speaks for itself! A wonderful, pure herbal tea designed to lift your mood and brighten your spirits. Adding in some different herbal teas throughout your day are a great way of keeping your hydration levels up, as well as making sure you steer away from flavoured or artificially sweetened drinks or taking in too much sugar/caffeine.

Happiness Tea was born from our love of delicate rose buds, which are great for skin health and makes the most wonderful floral and aromatic infusion. In this wellness tea, rose is combined with the citrus notes of lemon verbena intertwined with sweet spice of fennel seeds.

Lemon Verbena is a powerhouse in its own right and can be used for digestive disorders including indigestion, gas, colic, diarrhea and constipation. It is also used for agitation, joint pain, trouble sleeping, asthma, colds, fever, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, skin conditions and chills. Fennel not only adds an interesting twist to the flavour profile of this tea (think aniseed with a warm, sweet aroma), but it is also renowned for aiding digestion, as well increasing antioxidants in your body that help you fight off the harmful things in your environment that you are regularly exposed to. When you drink fennel, the antioxidants will attach to molecules in your blood that are fighting oxidative damage.

Extravagant Earl Grey

This classy black tea gives you a wonderful twist on the classic citrusy Earl Grey we all know and love. A good cup of black tea is a great refresher, but we often stick with the more traditional teas when feel like a cup of tea, so this is a nice way to mix things up! This fabulous fusion tea combines Earl Grey with Chinese black tea, rose petals, lavender and is finished with cornflower petals to produce a deliciously floral tea with wonderful hints of sweetness.

Black tea offers a variety of health benefits as it contains antioxidants and compounds that can help reduce inflammation in the body. Consuming anti-oxidants can help remove free radicals and decrease cell damage in the body – this ultimately may help decrease the risk of chronic disease. More specifically groups of polyphenols, including catechins, theaflavins and thearubigins, are the main sources of antioxidants in black tea and are widely believed to promote overall health, reduce the risk of diabetes, lower obesity, reduce cholesterol and balance blood sugar levels.

Lavender and rose together add a really floral sweetness and element of tranquility to this tea. Rose petals contain a number of powerful antioxidants, which can help protect cells from damage and are known to aid skin health. Lavender is thought to calm nerves, reduce anxiety and inflammation, boost immune health, de-toxify the body and support both digestive and respiratory health – being both anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory.
