WELLBEING

The Inspiration for our Dosaged Therapy Teas

We have all been touched by chronic diseases such as auto-immune, heart disease or cancer in some way or the other, whether we are recovering from it ourselves or seeing a loved one going through it.   Sometimes, it’s not the disease itself that causes a significant decline in the quality of health, but the intense drug therapy in itself can create terrible side effects and ruin the quality of life.

Having experienced our loved ones suffer with chronic diseases, we decided to create a range of authentic and well researched Therapy Teas that may help with some of the symptoms of chronic disease and the key pillars of the design were:

  • Organic with anti-inflammatory properties
  • Medically and scientifically reviewed ingredients
  • Daily dosage guidelines
  • Tea formulas created by professionals in botanical therapy and research and chronic disease therapists
  • Nutritious teas with a soothing and refreshing flavour profile

Scientifically Proven Health Benefits

Healing with botanical herbs and spices is as old as mankind. Interestingly, we found that as chronic diseases and related health care costs are on the rise worldwide, scientists’ interest in herbs and their numerous health benefits, including a reduction in cancer risk and modification of tumour behaviour, has actually started to increase.

There is a growing body to the study, preclinical evaluation and evidence pointing to the health benefits of herbs and spices with a particular focus on the anti-microbial, antioxidant, and anti-tumorigenic properties of herbs. Herbs and spices are beginning to reveal their ability to influence carcinogen bioactivation and potential anticancer contributions.

Therefore, using the scientific evidence available today with our background in medicinal herbs, we felt it was the right time to develop a new range of wellness teas that specifically targeted those living with chronic diseases.

Development Philosophy

We had clear objectives in mind – the ingredients had to be organic with anti-inflammatory properties. The tea formulas must offer liver support, help with associated digestive issues, aid skin repair, manage pain, stress, and anxiety, and promote body systems to cleanse, energise, sleep, relax, and rebuild. We also wanted to work with herbs with minimal or no chemical interaction to drug therapy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and backed by sound scientific research.

With these objectives in mind, we created a 3-factor model to help manage each stage of chronic disease. The three fundamental steps for us were…

Factor 1 – Feeling anxious when receiving diagnosis with the fear of starting treatment and experiencing fatigue after the treatment.

Factor 2 – Managing symptoms during treatment such as loss of appetite, nausea, dehydration and exhaustion.

Factor 3 – Completing treatment and feeling better to stabilise health and adopt a healthy living lifestyle.

Relax and Recover Tea

Relax and Recover is associated with the first model.

The two vital functional ingredients are Hibiscus and Rose. Hibiscus is well-known for its anti-inflammatory properties and is a potent antioxidant due to high levels of vitamin C content. Rose is also anti-inflammatory, and studies have proved its ability to induce calmness with slight hypnotic effects. The blend has also been designed to help anyone who has developed skin issues due to drug therapy. This delicious blend offers sweet and refreshing floral notes with slight hints of nettle. It is ideal for anyone who needs a moment of peace, calmness and time for recovery.

Digest and Energise Tea

Digest and Energise, the second factor with two vital functional ingredients, being ginger and burdock. Various clinical studies show ginger as an effective and safe treatment for nausea and vomiting in the context of pregnancy and as an adjuvant treatment for chemo-induced nausea and vomiting.

Multiple reports and studies suggest that Burdock extracts exhibit a potential treatment for inflammatory diseases. Flavonoid-type antioxidants and some other active polyphenol antioxidants found in the burdock root may account for the suppressive effects on cancer metastasis.

The taste is invigorating with a harmonious balance of lemon, mint and ginger. This is an ideal blend for anyone living with inflammatory conditions, digestive complaints, lack of appetite and fatigue.

Refresh and Rebuild Tea

Refresh and Rebuild falls into the third model with two vital functional ingredients, Rosemary and Turmeric, both known for their potent anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidant contents. The idea behind this blend was to help support liver function and address inflammation.

The blend offers soothing and relaxing, sweet chamomile with savoury and spicy undertones.
