Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp of Camellia’s Earl Grey Orange tea
  • 180ml of fresh water, plus 2 cups
  • 2 cup of sugar
  • 60ml good bourbon or rye whiskey
  • 4 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • Large ice cubs
  • 1 large orange twist to garnish

Instructions:

For making Earl Grey Orange Tea Syrup: Steep the loose tea in 180ml of fresh boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Then remove the tea leaves and set tea liquid aside.
In a small sauce pot, put 2 cups of fresh water to a boil, then add 6 teaspoons of reserved tea liquid and remove from heat.
Add sugar and stir well to dilute. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes, then strain into a separate container.

For making the Earl Grey Old Fashioned cocktail: Pour the whiskey into an short glass. Add 60ml of Earl Grey Orange Tea syrup and bitters. Add a single large ice cub. Cut a large orange twist, being careful to only get the skin and not the bitter pith, and express it over the drink with a twisting motion. Drop it in to garnish.

Enjoy and share with us your own tea cocktail on social media 😉!
